Still wondering something?

Good to know

Booking & Payment
  • Simply click the “Book a Tour” button and select your preferred date and experience. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive all practical details by email. To ensure your preferred date, booking at least 48 hours in advance is recommended. Last-minute inquiries are welcome, and I’ll do my best to accommodate when my schedule allows.

  • A 20% non-refundable deposit secures your booking via a secure payment link. The remaining balance is paid in cash on the day of the tour. This guarantees your spot and allows me to prepare a personalised experience for you.

  • Please contact me directly and we’ll sort it out together.

Technical issues happen, but they should never stand between you and a good experience.

  • The 20% deposit is non-refundable, as it reserves your dedicated time slot.

If you need to reschedule, please let me know as early as possible. I will always try to find a thoughtful solution when circumstances allow.

Practical Details
  • Cards are widely accepted across the city. Still, it is useful to carry some cash for the remaining tour balance, tips if you wish to leave one, or small local markets.

ATMs are easy to find and work smoothly with most international cards.

  • Tipping is not expected, yet it is always appreciated.

If you feel the experience added something meaningful to your visit, a tip is a kind and entirely optional way to express that.

  • Amsterdam is best experienced comfortably. Choose shoes suitable for walking or museums, and clothing that allows easy movement if you are joining a cycling tour. Layers are always a good idea, as the weather can shift quickly, and a light jacket is useful year-round.

  • A bottle of water is helpful, as Dutch tap water is excellent and refillable throughout the city. On sunny days, sunglasses or a cap can make the walk more pleasant. If rain is in the forecast, light rain protection is recommended. Tours usually continue in typical Amsterdam weather.

  • Light rain is part of everyday life here and rarely affects the experience. In cases of severe weather or unsafe cycling conditions, we will discuss alternatives together, whether that means adjusting the route or rescheduling.

  • For most outdoor walking tours, yes, provided your dog is comfortable in a lively urban environment.

For cycling tours, combining bikes and dogs is generally not advisable unless you are very experienced and properly equipped. In my experience, it is safer for everyone to focus fully on the ride.

Museum tours usually do not allow dogs, unless they are certified assistance animals. If you are unsure, please ask.

  • I will wait up to ten minutes. If the delay extends beyond fifteen minutes, the shortened time will be deducted from the tour duration. Additional time can be arranged at a rate of fifty euros per hour, depending on availability.

Accessibility
  • Amsterdam is beautiful, but not always perfectly smooth. Cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and active bike traffic are part of the city’s character.

Because all tours are private, the pace can be adjusted, breaks can be added, and routes adapted where possible. If you have specific needs, please mention them in advance so I can plan with care.

  • Many families join the tours. Walking tours can be adapted to almost any age. The Van Gogh tour can be enjoyed even by children as young as four, depending on their curiosity and energy. Cycling tours are generally recommended for children aged twelve and older.

Since each experience is private, the pace and storytelling can be shaped around different ages. If you are visiting with children, let me know in advance so I can prepare accordingly.

  • Cycling tours are relaxed and accessible for anyone who feels reasonably comfortable on a bike. We ride at an easy pace with frequent stops.

At the beginning, I explain how Dutch bike paths function and guide you through areas that are easy to navigate. Guests with limited cycling experience have joined successfully. What matters most is your comfort. I set the pace, stay close, and support you throughout the ride.

Cycling
  • You are welcome to bring your own bike if that feels easiest.

If not, I can recommend a reliable local rental with excellent city bikes and family-friendly options, including children’s bikes, tandems, and child seats up to 20 kg. I will also demonstrate proper locking techniques, which is a small yet essential Amsterdam skill.

  • You do not need to be an expert cyclist, but you should feel comfortable riding in an urban setting. Most cycling tours take place in Amsterdam-Noord, where bike paths are wide and traffic is calmer.

Bike rental can be arranged upon request, including family-friendly options. If you are uncertain whether a cycling tour suits you, I am happy to advise.

Cultural Tours
  • Not at all.

The history of Jewish life in Amsterdam is deeply interwoven with the city’s cultural and architectural development. The tour is open to anyone who approaches this history with curiosity and respect.

  • Yes, museum tickets are not included and should be purchased in advance. After the guided visit, you are welcome to continue exploring independently.
